Ira Funesta is a post-metal band formed in 2023, uniting three members from different corners of the world: Chris (guitar and vocals) from the raw energy of Santa Cruz, California; Lu (bass and vocals) from the intense contrasts of Italy; and Tiago (drums) from dreamy, sunny Portugal.
Their sound lives somewhere between sludge and catharsis, a blend of slow, crushing heaviness and sudden, chaotic outbursts. It’s noisy, melancholic, and raging all at once, creating space for deep introspection between sadness, anger, and ultimate release.
Drawing inspiration from bands like Isis, Cult of Luna, Amenra, Neurosis, Yob, King Woman, Rosetta, Thou, ERR, and Mrs. Piss, Ira Funesta crafts music that feels both visceral and transcendent, a raw emotional journey through light and darkness.
